Georgia Tech in the ACC Championship Conversation?
Georgia Tech is going to be 4-0 going into week five against Top 25 ranked Louisville… and they’re going to make picking between the two real difficult. This team looked great against FSU. I have already put down in black and white that they were clearly more dominant than the box score showed. Jamal Haynes has 3 rushing touchdowns through the first two weeks. That doesn’t even include the other 3 they’ve gotten through committee. This team is poised to stay electric in their classic offense focused on the ground and pound. If they happen to take down the Cardinals in a few weeks, they’ll likely take their first loss against Notre Dame. This team historically can take down a high powered Miami Hurricanes lineup as well. Don’t let them go into their last few games with confidence, because they may put themselves in play for an ACC championship.
FSU Won’t Have to Worry About the Postseason
Let’s call this section, “Week 0 Overeaction Continued”. FSU is terrible. DJ Uiagalelei looks terrible - that’s not the overeaction here. My overeaction is that the entire team looks terrible. Call the defense what you want… they’re better than the offense, I’ll agree. You cannot excuse allowing 28 points to a Boston College team though. Stop blaming the transfer QB and stop the run. Stop blaming the inconsistent passes and make a tackle. You cannot be happy if you’re in Tallahassee right now. Again, same from Week 0, I think I’m okay with being booked with this opinion. FSU will be watching others play in bowl games at the end of the season… from their dorm rooms.
Nico Iamaleava is “him”
Nico Iamaleava is about to prove he is “him”. That’s what the kids say right? Yes, his first game was against Chattanooga. Yes, that’s not a great way to see if he is going to be as good as they say he is going to be. I will say though… he was fun to watch last week. 314 passing yards? 3 TD’s and 0 interceptions, all in one half? What is there not to like? They play N.C. State today. In my opinion, this is the game of the week. It should be fun to see how he produces against top end talent at the D-I level. If Tennessee can take them down, I’d start to be afraid of being a top dog in the SEC. This Volunteer team this year is scary good and extremely explosive from what we saw Week 1. Count me in for putting the house on them as the sleeper pick in this absolute beast of a conference.
